Triangle Midpoint Theorem: Triangle with a Segment Through Midpoints of sides and Parallel to Third Side.

Given a triangle, if we join two of the sides by the midpoint; this segment is parallel to the third side, and its length is half of that same side.

In the construction presented below drag any of the vertices in the triangle to verify that the side in question is parallel at al times and half the length of the third side.
