Similarity in Triangles: Scale Factor, Enlargement, and Reduction.

An enlargement is done when you multiply by a scale factor all the sides of a given polygon; whereas that in a reduction you divide by this scale factor. All scaled figures are similar figures, since they have the same shape but different size. You will be able you to visualize a relationship of similarity between two triangles in this interactive geometric applet.
